Record business figures, presented on an interactive website – the new, digital DFL Economic Report went online yesterday. The platform guides users through the relevant KPIs, enabling them to run custom comparisons with seasons all the way back to 2013-14.
At the Bundesliga Hackathon, the DFL, Eintracht Frankfurt and AWS are on a hunt for the best ideas to support the future of German professional football. The competition is geared towards teams specialising in data analytics, Artificial Intelligence and cloud computing.

Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 record sales figures secure more jobs than ever
The 23-24 DFL Economic Report for the first time presents the balance sheet of German professional football in a comprehensive, exclusively digital format. A multimedia platform guides users through all relevant KPIs, including some record figures: during the reporting period, professional football generated total returns in the amount of 5.87 bn euros while paying 1.66 bn euros in taxes and levies. The Bundesliga 2 clubs crossed the 1 bn euro sales threshold for the first time, and a total of nearly 62,000 staff employed by both leagues represent the largest workforce ever in the history of German professional football.

DFL, AWS and Eintracht Frankfurt open “playground” for IT talents
Data analytics, Artificial Intelligence and cloud computing have been key areas of activity in international professional football, including the Bundesliga. To highlight career opportunities in the football sector to qualified IT students, the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga, EintrachtTech (the digital subsidiary of Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG) and Amazon Web Services (AWS) are jointly running a hackathon.
