Through our Bundesliga website and app, we keep football fans around the world supplied with current state-of-the-art content from the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2. Today we are explaining the importance of the ‘story’ - and how we will be creating this format semi-automatically in future.
Furthermore, the Stadium Innovations project group has once again presented an annual report. It relates lots of meaningful insights gained in pilot projects trialling innovative technologies and services in stadium operations. In today's newsletter, we also report on this topic.

Stories are playing an increasingly important role on Bundesliga channels

AI-supported creation of story formats
The DFL has created a system that can automatically search for images using computer vision and AI, generate text components, and provide the editor with a finished Story which the editor can either publish directly or revise as needed. "We are convinced that this will make our content much more appealing to our users, as it is optimised for mobile consumption", says Björn Rosenthal, Head of Product at DFL Digital Sports GmbH.

Final report about stadium innovations for 2023/24
|
Joint initiative of the DFL and DFB
During the 2023/24 season, the stadium innovations project group again helped participating clubs build knowledge about innovative products and processes and share experiences. The initiative also provided forward-looking companies with an opportunity to highlight their innovations and test them in a real-life environment.

A few years ago, the fixture list was still generated manually using what was known in Germany as the ‘English key’. Today this complex task is made a lot easier by software that is able to account for numerous interdependent factors.
