Hello Reader,
|
The future of media production is getting more digital and more flexible. At SportsInnovation 2022 we showcased fascinating innovations involving, among others, remote-controlled cameras and cloud-based sport live broadcasts. This newsletter looks back on these highlights, then puts the spotlight on two major development steps taken by the bevestor Virtual Bundesliga: The eFootball competition is being included in the DFL statutes; and in a riveting final tournament, Dylan “DullenMIKE” Neuhausen conquered the championship shield, winning a 40,000 euro prize. Congratulations!

Cloud-based 9:16 production and remote cameras
Two recent development steps are taking the possibilities for digitalisation and flexibilisation in media production to the next level: Cloud-based production, and camera remote control. In both areas the DFL subsidiary Sportcast has been building substantial expertise, presenting live application examples during SportsInnovation 2022, including vertical video production for smartphone users.

The Virtual Bundesliga continues to professionalise
The Virtual Bundesliga will soon be incorporated in the league statutes of the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga. At the DFL Members Assembly in May, the clubs of the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 passed a resolution to officially establish the competition for the title of “German eFootball Club Champion”.
